The Women’s Sacred Music Project (WSMP) announces an international contest for choral anthem settings of texts and/or tunes by women in VOICES FOUND, a hymnal supplement published by Church Publishing, Inc. A total of $6000 in prizes (three envisioned) may be awarded; winning compositions will be performed November 14, 2009, at a Voices Found symposium at the Daylesford Abbey in Paoli, PA, the centerpiece of the Abbey’s Founder’s Day celebration. They will also be sung at Princeton University Chapel at a symposium of the Royal School of Church Music, Westminster Choir College, Princeton Theological Seminary, and the University Chapel. Date TBA. Winners will be offered a high profile publication opportunity.
