Socio Design invites students to question how prisons are used in contemporary society. This competition strives to answer how prison design affects occupants, employees, and adjacent societies. Applicants are required to develop a philosophy about the role of prisons in society and then create an architectural design to express this philosophy. Registration deadline is November 21, 2008 and the deadline for submissions is March 20, 2009. Decisions will be made April 24, 2009. Students can compete individually or in groups. 1st Prize $500, 2nd Prize $250, 3rd Prize $100
