In 2012, our 17th competition dedicated to violinists will bring some novelties :
The participants age limit is raised to 30 years (they must be born after 15 January 1982).
The candidates will have to propose two different recitals for the semi-final, of which the jury will choose one to be performed
The semi-finalists will be accompanied by the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, under the baton of Michael Hofstetter.
Once more we welcome the National Orchestra of Belgium and Gilbert Varga for the final at the Centre for Fine Arts.
The 2012 Violin Competition will mark the 75th anniversary of the Queen Elisabeth Competition, established in 1937 under the name of the renowned Belgian violinist Eugne Ysae.
