International Competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music

In the framework of the 8th International Competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music (February 8-16, 2012), the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG) organizes an international Competition for Composition. The prime aim of this competition is to create new works for Piano Trio. Subject to this competition is a piece for

Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello

with a maximum length of 12-20 minutes. The award-winning work will be on the programme as a compulsory piece of music in the 3rd round of the competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music taking place in 2012, i.e. all ensembles in this round will play the award winners composition. Moreover, a selected ensemble will present the awarded piece to the audience of subscribers of the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz in the framework of the concert of prize winners performed at Stefaniensaal of the Graz Convention Centre.

The international competition Franz Schubert and Modern Music is a chamber music competition in the disciplines of Duo for Voice and Piano (Lied), String Quartet and Trio for Piano, Violin and Violoncello. This invitation on hand refers to the genre of Piano Trio.
